Welcome to my blog. My name is Sofia and this is my little corner on the cyberspace.
I was born in sunny Lisbon in a Summer day back in the 80’s. This blog was born in 2014, exactly six months after I relocated from Portugal to Bristol, UK.
Although it originally started as a way to write to my family and friends (hence why the name Letters from Bristol seemed perfect), somehow it gained a life of its own.
Now, I have readers from all four corners of our beautiful Planet – which is pretty awesome.
A little bit about the person behind the words in your screen.
Professionally, I have a University degree in Marketing, Advertising and PR from a Lisbon University and in the UK, I work in financial services.
I am a qualified financial adviser (although I don’t provide advice), and I have an interest in Politics and Economics.
Outside work, I love sports, food and travelling.
I share mostly on my Instastories, so make sure you follow me on Instagram if you want to see more of this type of content.
I am a mama to my little girl Diana, we have two cats (Bemmi and Polo) and one rescue dog (Smarties).
There’s also another human living with us. His name is Keir and he’s the custard to my doughnut. Before you say anything, yes, I realise how cringe this sounds and yes, I promise never to do it again.
We have a full household around here and life sometimes is hectic but we make the best of it and I write about it.
You will see that some posts are in English and others are in Portuguese. Google allows you to translate the posts into any other language in the world so don’t worry about missing out.
Thanks for visiting and hope to see you more often.
If you have any suggestions on what you would like me to write about, you can leave a comment below or send me a message here.
Beijinhos (that means kisses in Portuguese, btw. We never say goodbye, we prefer to send kisses instead and I love that),
